Building Connections Through Parent Groups and Community Events
Connecting with Parent Groups and Community Events: We’re committed to actively engaging with parent groups, both formal and informal. Many communities offer parent meet-ups, Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classes, or church groups for young families, and we’ll be there to foster connections.
We will seek out local nonprofits that serve families and children – such as
community centers, Head Start programs, cultural centers, or organizations
like the YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, etc. By working together, we can
mutually support our missions. For instance, partnering with a nonprofit that
assists immigrant or low-income families could involve us providing child
care information at their events, while they refer clients to our center
for CCAP-supported slots.
"Apple Childcare’s annual book drive has greatly enhanced our efforts to support children across the state. Thanks to the generous contributions of over 6,000 gently used books each year from our parents and staff, we’ve been able to create literacy-filled waiting areas and exam rooms for the children in our care. We also provide books for families to take home, encouraging a lifelong love for reading."
